What did you do for set and costumes...did you go "all out" or try to keep it pretty simple? How many cast members did you have?

Directed, no. Seen, yes. The set can be borrowed or rented and the cast depends on your budget and stage size. If the cast is paying for their own costume rental (many school productions do this) then all you have to do is find a place that has the costumes for rent. The same place may have the set for rent as well. I don't know where you're located but all you need to do is call costume rental places and theatre who have done the show and ask them if they have these things for rent or loan or if they put on the production, where they got thier stuff.

For this show, the more whimsical and cartoony the better. You'll need levels if at all possible so that Whoville can be envisioned well by your audience.

good luck,

we went pretty all out. well... relatively speaking, for a high school play that is. it was the biggest cast we'd had in a while, like 40? It was pretty boss. I myself performed as the Cat in the Hat.
