Photometry is the measure of light in a given area.

Depending on what you're shooting, the way your camera (cell or otherwise) views it could make a huge difference in how the picture comes out.

Don't be afraid to try all settings, but, keep in mind that most cell phones don't have the memory capacity to make that much of a difference, regardless of those settings, so don't be surprised if you take three different pictures, and they look exactly alike! Generally speaking, if your camera has a "simple" or "automatic" mode, use it!
