Sometimes I like to put my hair into a bun or a clip, but lack the creativity to make a kippah work with an updo. I'd love any suggestions from my Jewish sisters!

Don't think of it as a kippah--think of it as a stylish hat and instantly you'll have more options :) Nowadays you can get really cute ones too!

Oh and to all asking, a kippah (or yarmulke) is a sort of skullcap worn by Jewish men and women.

You'll have to modify your hairstyle a bit--keep the bun or clip towards the back of your head to accommodate the kippah on top. A small kippah will work better, and you'll need to hold it on with two bobby pins or clippies.
I have also seen a larger kippah folded in half, and pinned with the folded edge butted up against the bun. Personally, I think this is a poor solution, but I *have* seen it.
To LadyLynn: It's already being done! (see below)

I don't know if a kippah would stay on if you wore your hair up. I'm trying to imagine it; it doesn't seem like it would work.

Why not just wear your hair in a way that the kippah will stay on? Its Temple, not fashion show.

I would think you can wear it just like a man. Just use a bobby pin, like a lot of men do. Also, I think you'd want a small one.

I just had a great idea. To make Female Yarmalkas! Make them pretty in different colors and beads, etc. Wanna be partners?! LOL Good luck!! :)
