OK, married ladies, what did you do about your name when you got married? Almost everyone I know does the first option below and it got me wondering how that lines up with the rest of the world (or at least the YA community).

1. Did you drop your maiden name and take your husband's last name?
2. Did you drop your middle name, put your maiden name in the middle, and take your husband's last name? (For instance, Mary Ann Smith becoming Mary Smith Jones.)
3. Did you hyphenate?
4. Did you keep your own name?
5. Did you do something else? If so, what?

I took my husband last name in place of my maiden name so option 1

I kept my middle name and took his last name. However, my mother took my fathers last name and changed her middle name to her maiden name because her first and last name were very common and there were multiple women in our town with the exact same name. I don't have that problem.

I use a hyphen because I wanted to keep my maiden name.

Both times took my husbands' last names, and kept my middle the same.

I kept my own name. I meant to go get it changed but kept putting it off and years passed (8) so i just kept it. But now my kids are wondering why my names different

I dropped my last name and took his. My name is Jessica Lynn, and I just liked it too much to give up.
