Dog poll: If you have dogs, what breed do you have currently, or have had in the past?

What character trait did you like best about that breed?

I currently have 2 German Shepherd dogs, got them both from the same rescue organization. Great dogs. I have had 6 German Shepherds so far and one Rottweiler. Each one of these dogs was great!

I love the extreme loyalty, devotion and love a Shepherd has with an eagerness to please that seems unlikely to be matched, but I could be favoring them.

I have two German Shepard's right now. One was given to me the other was a rescue dog. They are very protective and very loyal but shed a lot. I had a Rottweiler/lab cross that was my ultimate best friend-very loyal, very protective. I lost him 2 years ago.

We have a silky terrier. They are herding dogs originally and he keeps great tabs on the family. He comes and gets me if the kids stop doing chores. He can locate the 6 year old with voice commands and he makes granny go to bed every evening at ten sharp. We were only keeping him for a weekend until the first time he tattled on the kids and found the then 2 year old that had wandered away from her play area. He is better than eyes in the back of my head could ever be even when he barks incessantly.

I have always had Labrador Retrievers. I had 3 and lost my chocolate last February. However, my husband brought home a beagle pup last week...holy moly what work it is to have a year old baby and a 9 week old puppy. My dad raised beagles, so it's not an issue, however a beagle is a whole 'nother ball game than my Labs. She's a hunter...into everything. I love my Labs because they are so laid back...sweet, smart and they are gentle.

Sammy: A mutt she was a golden tan color really great personality but was afraid of every thing. She passed away.
Katie: Another mutt she was friendly to a point but only to the family had to be put down.
Sage: A mutt Friendly and love-able gets really nervous. Still alive
Snowy: A mutt Loves every one friendliest dog I ever had she is all ways happy. Still alive.

i have two dachshunds right now.
i had another dachshunds which pasted away may 2005. she was 15 years old.
we had one chocolate lab pup that died from kennel cough.

we got the chocolate lab because they are known as family dogs. it was more my dad's breed. we got dachshunds because my mom grew up with dachshunds. what to i like about them? they're smart dogs. very loving. they aren't afraid of things. they sense when they need to be a guard dog and when to be friendly. i think they can read people pretty well.

we have had a poodle/schnauzer mix, dachshunds (wiener dogs) and currently have a golden retriever purebred and a chihuahua. the golden is dumb as a box of rocks but she's pretty. all the others have been extremely loyal and loving. the poodle mix used to follow my mom around the house from room to room.

I now have an English Bull Dog, I have had Pit Bulls all my life but as you guys know home owner's insurance won't allow me to own one, so I have a more mellow, fat, shorter dog named Rambo. See pic in my Yahoo 360.

I currently have a shi tzu and a chihuahua

I've had a doberman, pit bull, sheep dog, german shepphard, collie, a yellow lab (my favorite one) :)

all have been rescued dogs :)

They are all loyal and very appreciative pets :) I only adopt

The dogs in the past have been mutts other than the husky I had when I was really little.
