I have seen this movie. I was a young adult at the time this movie came out. It was somewhat distrubing because it is based on a true story.
But it was uplifting because it was testament to the human spirit of survival.
Watch it again. Because you are older, you will have "new" eyes to watch it with.

...it WAS very good, and bore some outstanding special effects, cinematography and performances, but compared to the much more exploitive and in-your-face original 1976 movie version of the story, "Alive" was a little too touchy-feely for my taste...
...the original version, entitled "Survive", from 1976, exhibited a much more no-holds-barred, no-punches-pulled exploitive attitude to the story....think 'too repulsive to watch, but too compelling to resist'...
...supposedly, the original version is soon due for a long-awaited (...complete and digitized) official release on DVD...

I read the book first. Never could watch the movie.
The book would completely mess up your life.

That movie came out when I was 13-years-old. I loved it then, and I love it now; it's an excellent story (and true!).

Yeah I remember it.It's not a gory movie but more messes with you mental psychology when it comes to the part when they have to eat whatever they have to survive...makes you think."what would you do?"
