Last month I founded my own independent rap label. The name of the label is Super King Records. Anyway, to help with the promotion of my label, I legally changed my name to Cash Dawg-Money. I know it sounds unusual but I really think it will help me promote the label as my name before I changed it was Ralph Herbert McToolmeister. My 16 year old son is going to the the star rapper for my label and I want him to change his name to either Murder McGunns or Hercules J. Bust-a-Cap. He doesn't really want to but I was going to make him change it since it will help his career and propel him into an international rap star hopefully. You see, the name me and my wife gave him, Alvin Q. McToolmeister, just isn't "gangsta" enough. Anyway, my wife said if I make my son change his name, she will leave me since she really didn't want me to change my name but she let me just to keep me happy, but she is drawing the line with my son! What should I do. How could my wife betray me like this? Please help!

So you turn to yahoo answers for help. That is said. I'm not all gangsta, but if that is the way to sell your product, then go for it. If that is what makes her leave there is one thing to remember. If it had not been this it would have been something else. She needs to learn that when you put your foot down you better follow through or shut the F*^K up.
If you son doesn't want to change his name, then you should not be trying to make him either. He will figure out what to do, or maybe he will go into a different profession. Does he have an education in case his records don't sell? I hope you are not trying to live through him.
Finally, brother this was not an emergency! She should leave you just for classifying it as such. You just have a situation. If she had a gat, that would be different. Peace.

You're an idiot, but I'm more mad at myself to taking time out to read your idiotic post and to put an answer to this stupid question. Even though I have more to do than you apparently, it doesn't seem that way at this very moment.
Why don't you go and make yourself useful and help a homeless person find shelter or give an unfortunate kid a toy. Start a can drive in your area and donate the proceeds to a literacy fund.... I mean dang! Are you that useless?

She is not betraying you. She is just drawing the line. Why do you even have to change your name, just use whatever name you plan on using as your alist and keep your real names. I would have to say that you are wrong by telling your child to change his name and I agree with your wife. You are wrong in asking your son to change his name.
Besides who cares what your real name is as long as you go by your alist or whatever you want to be introduced by. This is really dumb.

Yes, really, you need to seek mental counseling...since you do not see your wife's legitamate point of view on how you cannot dictate such an extreem dream into your child's reality. your wife is not betraying you. your son was named at birth and it was a name that meant something to her or you (whoever named him). and after 16 years of her calling him Alvin you want to change his name? seriously?
you could change your name to whatever you want but you cant force someone to do it and it seems like that's what you want.
i personally am glad that your wife stood up to you.
