Of course not. This whole thing is a slippery slope. If they really start investigating this thing, they're going to find that a lot more players do than don't and the sport will be destroyed. They'll have to "asterisk" every title and record for the past 25 years. And then they'll move on to Football and all hell will really break loose.
I have a real problem with these government witch hunts in general. It reminds me of McCarthyism in the '50s. Get the government the hell out of it and let MLB put its house in order in its own way.

Clemens wont mean anything because their bullpen is junk. They got a quality start last night against the Mariners and as soon as it was turned over to the bullpen the game turned around and another Yankees loss. They Yankees have some good starters and Clemens could add a bit but remember he is 45 and coming off a mediocre year in the weaker National League where the batters 7-9 are not as tough as the American League. Even if he is great he is now only a 6 inning pitcher on average, he is no longer an 8 or 9 inning guy so the bullpen is going to be in there a few innings which could easily blow the game.

How about Clemans' CY YOUNG award? LOOK, my opinion is if your going to put an asterisk next one players records for steroids, then you should put an asterisk by ALL players who have taken steroids PERIOD!! This all started because ONE PLAYER ( BONDS) was pin pointed and not for his use of steroids and not even lying about it. It was because he is a JERK! So all the media and others started to just rip this guy and dig for any info they could get to tarnish his career. Well in doing that many other names have been revealed and well " Whats done in the dark will come to the light". The MLB is also to blame, they knew players were taking steroids, but making money was what they really cared about!!!

Who is this "they " that is taking away individual performances? Exactly which baseball rule where these players breaking if they took steroids in the 90's? That's right - none.
Regardless of the performance of players that were possibly on steroids, ( remember, most of this will be here-say) baseball will not remove any records of individuals or teams, nor will there be any asterisks placed anywhere in the record books.

NO!!! Seriously, in the day of million dollar contracts and bad testing, you have to level the playing field. I would be surprised if anyone passes the drug reports. I remember other pitchers mentioning that they took steroids that could have killed a horse back in the 70's. Every team needs an asterisk as well then.

Who cares, does it really matter? I mean there was no rules in place back then anyways, plus there was hardly any testing. Can you really blame them. You have to remember probably 50% of the players were doing it and millions of dollars are at stake. I mean if someone hit 40 home runs that's like 15 million a year right there. I would take steroids for 15 million a year. Wouldn't you?

That's a great question, that I just can't answer... Sometimes a team's fate rests on one guy, and that one guy could've been a user. One guy's whose name came up: Aaron Boone. Remember his 11th inning, upper-deck shot that killed the Red Sox in game 7 of the 2003 ALCS. What happens if Boone isn't there? The Yankees probably lose. The Red Sox go on, and history is re-written...

I don't think an 'asterik' is appropriate for any record. I hate the Yankees and I think everyone knew Giambi especially was juicing way before he admitted it.
I think a player or team should only be punished if they test positive while it happens. If it is in the past then I don't believe anything should happen.
I don't think a lot of people will agree with me, but that's my opinion.

I believe that all males that talk about putting asterisks in front of team or individual records or totals must be gay or something. Why worry about putting a decorative symbol in front of something that is of significance in the sporting world! Maybe it could work for figure skating, but not baseball.

Yes, since more "prominent" Yankee players will be named in the report. I believe Posada, A-Rod, Rivera and possibly Jeter will all be named. All were big reasons for the Yankees WS wins from 96' to 00'.
Does anyone else find it overly coincidental that A-ROD finished up and finalized his contract right before the report came out? Not me, I know why.
