Check with the jewellery stores something rugged I'm think Swiss Army if they make a pocket watch I know they do make watches look around research on the web and good luck shopping have the back engraved and then place a laminated picture of yourself in the cover. I think he would love this it was actually a practical gift alot of soldiers wives would give there mate when shipping out as a momento and a token of there love. My Great Uncle's had them and my Dad's dad in the 2nd world war.
Very popular gift for soldiers.

Check the PX. They have all those little specialty shops. Also, check mil clothing sales. They sometimes have stuff too. Finally, go to "Things Remembered" or a thropy shop to get it engraved. Nah baby, it is not corny. All too often people think things are "cheesy" and make fun of being sentimental. I hope and pray you will see him again. However, you very well may not. Let the gift express you love and give him something to cling to!
BIG OX to you sis. Hooah.

Things Remembered has pocket watches and money clips and all kinds of things and they will engrave them for you. I bought my mother in law a snow globe from there and it is lovely. They can ship to you or you can try to locate a store. Speaking of pocket watches, I'm getting my fiance one for Christmas!!

Hell no it's not corny. It's rather nice. Most all jewelry stores would carry pocket watches.

Pocket watches have always been cool. Here's a website with a bunch of them to choose from. In the crappy atmosphere he might be going to, get one with a cover he can close to protect the nice face of the watch. Merry Christmas.

I think that is a wonderful idea. Most malls have a store called Things Remebered. They have a beautiful watch and they engrave it in the store. Please convey our pride in your husband for his courage and patriotism. I wish your family the best.

if you think that is too corny, then I question you and your question about what to get your husband.
That would be a lovely ideal!
