I volunteer for the Red Cross's Disatser Action Team.

When ever there is a residential fire we go out and help the victims. We set them up with food, warm blankets and shelter (and whatever else they need to get through the night) for the night/weekend untill the Red Cross office opens in the morning

I Volunteer 1-2 weeks a month from 6pm untill 6am This month I am volunteering to be oncall the week of Christmas and the week of New Years.

I don't know if you consider this good or not. I donated to the Salvation Army, Red Cross and Hospice. And I start baking right after Thanksgiving and passed out goodies to all my neighbors. Now I'm baking for my family for Christmas dinner.

By the way, have you heard on the news, here in AZ. Salvation Army Kettles are being stolen! AZ has lost 70% of their yearly donations so far. So sad that some people resort to stealing from the needy. With as much help as they can get from organizations such as the Salvation Army and many more, it is sensless to steal from them.

I have paid a lot of my mothers bills - water bill, vet bills, phone bill and am adding the electric bill as soon as I can steal her account number. I have adopted a dog from a rescue. I have smiled at various people, have helped elderly people to cross snowy streets, and have just done little kind things that take no time, but bring a smile to people's faces. I have given monthly to the ASPCA. I have made new friends, some of which people question because one in particular is a homeless man.

I think those are good things....

Now just don't ask me about the bad things I have done....

My regular good is to do volunteer work for our local kids hockey league, my Christmas good this year was to help out a friend who's recently lost his job of 17 years by buying 2 presents for each of his 3 kids because their tree will be a little bare this year.

for the past 3 yrs my family & a few others have adopted a less fortunate family for Thanksgiving & Christmas. We bring them about $100 worth of food for Christmas gifts for the kids.

After thinking about it some more, we need to extend this beyond just the holidays.

You know, I cannot think of a thing. My life is the same as ever - haven't done anything 'good'. But I do do voluntary community work every week, and am training to be a social worker. Does that make me good enough?

I think I am a better mother than I was years before. I was always too busy to play with my kids and when they got sick, I would wait a few days to take them to the doctor. Now I spend my weekends playing with them, help out with homework, and take them to the doctor as soon as they start sniffling. I still need some improvements and will be even a better person next year.

I feed pizza to the homeless, cared for the elderly, and donated to the charity shops all my worldly goods then moved into the wilderness of the Canadian North lands.
