i have heard that some feel that the current french government is the 'fifth' revolution but i wasn't sure what that meant...

There were multiple revolutions that established new governmental eras in France, beginning with THE French revolution in the 18th century. They are up to the fifth today. France has a strong legacy of revolts, which is why they are still famous for strikes.

There were in fact. Usually when one says the French Revolution they're referring to the first in 1789, but in the 19th century the monarchy was overthrow again as France swayed from a republic to a monarchy.

There have been so many different governments there.

There was the monarchy, then the Committee of Public Safety, then Napoleon, then the new monarchy, then Napoleon again, then the monarchy again, then they replaced that king with another, then there was a Republic... and then on from there.

Some of those are out of order, but I think we're on the 5th French Republic right now.

because technically there were you know the basic one where they killed the king and queen but in my mind this is the 2nd one it was a brief one you see robespierre had made a list of traitors and they were going to be excuted but he didn't read it until the day after that when he went to read it he was silenced robespierre and 2 other people were sent to a room early morning shots were heard when the guards opened the door 1 jumped out a window the other one shot himself and killed himself and robespierre shot himself and wounded himself then he died by guillotine hope this helped
