Question Details: I have recently become VERY interested in all things to do with the royal family...especially the Tudor period, Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn etc....A rumor that Ive heard of that there was a queen that practiced zoophilia with her horses and as a result died from one of her horses falling on top of her....Can anyone give me a link to prove such a rumor? And also the name of which queen it could have been?

The rumor has to do with Catherine the Great of Russia and it's false according to most sources. She apparently suffered a stroke in the bathroom and subsequently died.

The alleged zoophilia incident came from Tsarina Catherine the Great of Russia, not England.

And the zoophilia incident is merely an urban legend, probably made up by some people who didn't like Catherine. There is no evidence to support it.

I would like to recommend some books for you to read on the topics of the Tudor Dynasty but the name of the author escapes me at the moment. You might want to do an Amazon search on Tudor Dynasty and you should find a bunch of interesting reading material. Nowadays, anyone can become an amateur historian.
