roger clemens*

If Clemens goes in without a * then Barry Bonds needs to go in without one also. It is a shame that people can split hairs here. Clemens doesn't deserve the hall if Mark Mcgwire can't go or Bonds can't go plain and simple. THey all used.

So what, someone said he used steroids. Isn't that what people have been wanting to hear. The only thing I don't like is the FACT that there is no solid proof, just someone else's word. Let's not forget Mitchell is on the Red Sox board. Isn't it funny Clemens name is the only one leaked out? I don't care if every player uses steroids. This has gotten old. Now, are parents going to take responsibility for what their child does rather than blame professional sports?

Why would people be surprised? I love the oh notice how Bonds got better as he got older so that PROVES it, yet Clemens has basically no drop off and people are surprised? Is it race, or is it Bonds is that easy to hate? I'd guess a little of both myself. Seriously my opinion hasn't changed.

sgold, i think it has to do more with clemens consistent performance vs bonds 25 - 30 homers per year rising to 73..though bonds was always a great athelete and HOF without steroids, his effect seemed much greater than clemens

As far as the HOF is concerned, I think only the part of his career before steroids were illegal in baseball should be considered. Baseball is to blame for being so slow to outlaw 'roids and I don't really hold it against players who used them before that time. You can't blame them for taking them at a time when it was perfectly legal. Even though many players could have their good names ruined today, this is really baseball's mess.

I never have cared for Roger and will love seeing him squirm over the next few days, but I would put him in the HOF.

It put's a huge lump in my throat to think that the best pitcher, and best hitter of my childhood both were on steroids. It upsets me, it confuses me, and I don't know if I'll ever look at the game with the same trust again.

The same thing that i've always thought, he's a user as well. How many times has he had a hamstring injury in the past 5 years??

I am so happy this is turning out like this now I would like to see how Clemens will be treated by the media...let's see if they will attack him like they attacked barry bonds, let's if they will let him slide like they did with mcgwire.

he shouldnt be in the Hall Of Fame if Bonds shouldnt be in.
i personally think they both deserve to go in the Hall, but im hearing the writers wont let anybody who used steroids go in the H.O.F.
but if they let Clemens in, Bonds should go in too
(with a big * by their records course)

Let's see if he gets the Barry Bonds treatment. Not only is this going to be a case of steroids but a case of race.
