...the film is most readily available on DVD, but shop very carefully; the version of the film, which is readily available pretty much everywhere, is only the bare-bones-basic movie, with little to offer, as far as extras. MGM Home Video, at one time, did unceremoniously and inconspicuously (...i.e., the front cover of both DVD versions, are identical) put out a DVD version of the film, which contains various extras, including tons of originally lost, archive and unused footage, and a very interesting movie-length documentary, which featured interviews of the still-living stars of the film, as well as how the riotous and epic comedy "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" came to be. I had to look very hard, and ask explicitly for this much more complete and special-feature-filled DVD, but I eventually found it, and it was definitely worth the search; if you are looking for the ultimate version of this film, as far as a gift, this is definitely the one you want!!! Good Luck!!!...
