Lol...very good question! You think he would if he's in the jungle swinging from trees all day.
But here is a question for you; how many people in the jungle documentaries do you see with beards? I don't recall any with more than a little patch on their chin.

Because his monkey friends can't stop thinking of his beard as part of his hair and thinks its fun to pull out the lices and at the same time they probably bite the hairs out leaving him cleanly shaved.
