8y+26=2y-4?

the idea is move variable one side, and numerical part the other side.

8y + 26 = 2y -4

8y -2y +26 = 2y -2y -4

6y +26 = 0y -4

6y +26 -26 = -4 -26

6y + 0 = -30

6y = -30

6/6y = -30/6

1y = -30/6 or -5

y = -5
