Thank goodness for your answers. I have always been very good at spelling and anything to do with literacy. However, the way my spelling has been going lately I thought it must be early Alzheimer's or something similar.

On the contrary, my spelling has always been quite good, but I find that it gets better the older I get. It stands to reason that as one gets older, one learns more!
I see the most appalling standards of spelling and written English on these pages. What on earth are they teaching in schools today, certainly not English language and spelling that's for sure?

It's just the opposite with me. I was always a terrible speller. I went to 22 schools in 18 states and spelling fell by the wayside. Sense I got my computer and started using spell check it has improved greatly. Spell check will fix the error and I usually remember it. I am 63.

I'm not sure if it's my mind, my sad typing ability, or trying to catch up on the "new spelling" with texting that has the biggest influence. I swear I have dyslectic fingers. LOL I admit I do recite my little spelling rhymes all the time. I before E except after C kind-of stuff. LOL

I questioned this too. i think of the respond is that extra families are choosing shops and church events. shops simply by wonderful climate administration and each and each keep supplies out candy and has relaxing events or perhaps dress contests. church homes have relaxing carnivals and video games. in addition they do what's often happening as Trunk or manage. The automobiles all line up interior the parking zone and hand candy out of the trunk. i think of those techniques make father and mom sense safer and that is extra contained than going throughout an area. i myself prefer the previous college trick or treating. that is interesting nevertheless, in case you look at Halloween via historic previous, the way we rejoice it slowly alterations and evolves.

I've learned to proof everything carefully before hitting send anymore.Even then some things slip by me and it's awful to post something spelled wrong and have no way to retrieve and edit.

I draw a blank on whether an "i" or "a" is used for words like "dependable", and the "e" in "judgement", and such. I keep my subscription to Merriam Webster's Unabridged in my links up top, for this reason, and for checking definitions to confirm the word that pops into my head means what I think it means.

Short answer? OH yeah.
