Couldn't agree more, really. I think the report could be important, but let's reserve judgment for a while.
And all this talk about punishment? I don't think anyone has the authority to turn a report into a tool for penalties.

The report is nothing more than an exercise in finger pointing conducted by a politician with Red Sox ties. That being said, there is much cause for suspicion with this whole issue. So far Clemens and Pettitte are the only two names that a press source in New Jersey and ESPN have mentioned. Also, according to these sources there would be more Yankees named on that list.
The bottom line is that this report has one purpose and one purpose only, and that is to taint players and the game itself, although I still have my suspicions that George Mitchell has a hidden agenda. And regarding the comment about turning down a position as Supreme Court Justice, maybe Mitchell was afraid of skeletons in the closet and chose to turn the offer down to alleviate his character being investigated. He is no man of honor believe me.

Mitchell is a man of great integrity. I know this is typically considered an oxymoron when talking about an ex politician, but in this case it is true. He was actually offered a spot on the Supreme Court, but turned it down.
The proof will be in the report, and the guilty will have a lot of explaining to do.

I agree whole heartedly with this statement. I also feel that this is a waste of government time, energy and especially money. We have a multi billion dollar national defecit and our government is willing to spend $30 million to find out which baseball players are taking "performance enhancing drugs". Shame on them!! New Orleans is still not fully standing, we have thousands of young men and women overseas trying to maintain a balance of peace in foreign countries and we're sitting over here worrying about the participants of a game. What kind of message does that send to the rest of the world???

Mitchell will not have to prove anything, his charter will be over after the release of the report. It will be up to MLB to pick up the fight, as needed, and move forward to some acceptable conclusion.

I want to read the report and see if it is possible for a life long politician to say anything that the normal human can understand.
Since he is being paid by MLB I want to know how honest he will be with current stars, and not just a few scape goats. and retired players.
