it's a £5 gift voucher i know some people will say it's better than nothing and that they didn't have to give us anything but don't you think this is a bigger insult after all the hard work that everybody does all year long and you're employer rewards you with a measerly tax free gift like this

Yes it is an insult. At my husband's frim though they have stopped the gift vouchers altogether this year when last year they got £15; 2 years before that it was £25. To rub salt into the wound the managers are forever having days out bonding while playing golf.

The other two who got the bonus who have been there two weeks longer ... those two weeks may be all that was necessary to be eligible for a bonus. If you don't get a bonus next year, then you should quit. Christmas bonuses aren't a right or guaranteed. I work 60-70 hours a week, usually 6 days a week and do whatever is necessary. I don't expect a bonus nor have I ever gotten one. I'm just doing my job.

So, your question is, do we think you are a cheapie because you don't think it's enough or your company is for that insult of a bonus? I say, it's better than nothing. We don't even get a card anymore and we aren't even getting the free luncheon this year!

At least you get something. Our "bonus" was a thermal mug with a candy cane in it. I've been here 12 years and that's about the best we've ever gotten.

what an insult, i give more to my dustbin man, you wont to all get your money and send it back to them and ask them to double it as you would like to give it to the children's hospice, then i bet they will realise then just what bloody skin flints they really are, good luck.

Why didn't they just slap you in the nutsack? I bet they gave themselves a great bonus.
