You guys are thinking too much into it...
The Cashier took $30 from 3 guys ($10 each)
room should have been $25. He gives the bell boy$5 to give BACK to the three guys. He gives them $1 each (total of $3) and keeps $2. If the question is asked PROPERLY the answer would have been given.

Therefore, there is no missing dollar, as the three ended up paying $27 for the room, the bellboy took the other $2. $27-$2=$25.

It's a trick question!!!!

There is no missing dollar. $25 for the room. And then the $3 that the bus boy gives back. $25 + $3 = $28 and then the $2 that the bus boy put in his pocket $28+$2 = $30

You bad at math? 30-5 = 25!

3x8=24
3x9=27

They did not pay 24 each + 5 = 29

They paid $8.33 each. There is no missing dollar.

Since the thief pocketed the 2 bucks
the room cost 28 and each paid 9.33

each guy only needed to pay 8.33, so the missing dollar is divided by the 3 guys because they paid $9 each---33 cents too much.

3 guys wanted to share the same room?

2007-12-13 12:53:00 · answer #8 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

if you divide $25 among 3 people you will get >> $8.33 each
and if $3 is returned , it will be that each one payed $9.33, when you add 9.33x3=27.99 so lets take it as $28 .... problem solved!!
*Anyways good one ...
