If the Cowboys finish the season strong, they could leap ahead of the Bears and the Dolphins for the NFL's best winning percentage of all time. Check out the following numbers:

After 2007 season if Cowboys win out, and Bears and Dolphins lose out
Cowboys (with a 15-1 finish)
416 wins, 300 losses, 6 ties
.581 winning percentage

Dolphins (with an 0-16 finish)

368 wins, 268, losses, 4 ties
.578 winning percentage

Bears (with a 5-11 finish)
675 wins, 493 losses, 42 ties
.577 winning percentage

So, there you have it. The Cowboys and we, their fans, could lay claim to their team having the best winning percentage of all time. NOt to mention 8 Superbowl appearances, winning five of those. Just another little thing to have in our favor when it comes time to discussing the "Which is the best football franchise of all time?" argument.

And next season looks to be even better.

Who's impressed?

To those who can't read properly, I said all time, not this season or even this decade. Read it again. ALL TIME people.

with 8 superbowl appearances 5 wins we already were the best. also most conference chamionship games. thats just another stat in a long list of reasons the cowboys are, and always will be Americas team. this little run by the cheaters is good, but doesn't even come close to the historical dominance of the cowboys

I give you great credit for finding that information out and passing it along. Stats are just stats unfortunately but I do see great potential in this Cowboys team. If not this year (which is very possible on any given Sunday) then in the next few you will see a highly dominant Cowboys organization like the one of the 90's.

Saints trail 17-3 at the half. Saints have Cowboys lulled to sleep which is exactly where they want them. Second half all Saints. They will join Indy at 14-0.

Cool stat. Too bad it has to be helped along by this seasons' worst team. No doubt, the Cowboys had some great years, and are having one this year.

It is nice for them, but not a statistic that comes up in conversations like 16-0, 56 game hitting streak, .400 batting average, 756/61 home runs (or whatever it is today) and 100 point NBA game.
