Why do men masturbate more than women?

I was just wondering a friend and I had a conversation and we came to the conclusion that men masturbate more than women

I think some were lying, but not the whole 5%. Really men don't have to masturbate because of wet dreams and girls don't have to either, so I guess it's possible that they don't need to masturbate. But I would put money on it that most of the people I know masturbate, if not all. Mormons are rare in my experiences so she might not have been lying. But I think she was. Really I believe a lot of what others tell me (as long as it is not fact related or something crazy like what she claims her husband does). I don't know if it is a weakness or a strength but I do trust people a lot.

I think it's because society (like many other things) makes women feel wrong about doing certain things! For instance, a man is a stud if he sleeps around, but if a woman does then people think she's a slut. I think it's just one of those double standards that society places on the sexes. I think a lot of women do masturbate, they just don't talk about a much as men. I would guess that men still do it more!

The obvious reason that comes to mind is that men's genitals are on the outside and more easily stimulated, even casually. Also, testosterone makes men more aggressive and therefore more prone to seeking out sex. Then there's the cultural thing where girls are more likely to be discouraged from displaying any sexuality or from masturbating (to the extent in Eastern countries of castrating them so that they having nothing to masturbate with, or in Western countries where the practice used to be to tie their hands to the bedpost at night).

That's not always true some women masturbate just as much and trust me, we do have wet dreams, lol. We can wake up lubricated.

Well its more logical them simple. I agree with the whole semen build up, but if you have heard of it, all men after orgasm goes through a refractory period where they must lets say, recharge their batteries but of course thats for select men, some have much greater stamina. But, as a therory, due to the refractory period, the build up could be a cause, and as such stimulation and sexual tension could also increase as well. Then again, this is just my thoughts.

What nonsense......just like the "semen build-up " fairytale! Women get just as horny as men.....its just that most women are afraid to admit that they like to masturbate. We do, honey!

I don't think they do. I think men talk about it more. And I think women often do it more subtly than men do. For men there is no subtle.

Think about the physiology of it: semen builds up and signals the body that it needs to be released. Granted the body will sloooowly absorb it, but that rarely relieves the pressure.
