I agree with the post about the introspective characters. His writing style was also unique - he coined many new words and many phrases that today seem cliche. Language was truly a vehicle of expression for him, and he developed new ways of using it to his advantage.

He is credited with inventing the form of the Shakespearean (also called the "English") sonnet. It differs from the earlier Petrarchan sonnet form in rhyme scheme and stanza construction.

The general consensus seems to be that Shakespeare's writing is unique (for his time) in that his characters are introspective in a way that no other characters have ever been before. They have inner lives and thoughts, and express them in their dialog. They have motivations for their behavior, not always in strict black-and-white terms, are conflicted, many-mooded, and are so well-written that audiences all over the world can identify with those emotions and conflicts.

He had incredible insight into the human heart and mind. He was fantastically clever and could impact the reader so forcefully with word pictures that he painted. "....is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing"! Doesn't that one sentence give you a dynamic visual picture in your mind? Can't you just see some guy raving and waving his arms around and when you try to listen to him, he makes absolutely no sense at all?

Well, I think, he dedicated all of his writings to the women he loved and the people he cherished. That's why it's so unique, it's made by full of emotions. He might be a dramatic and deep person, that's why his writings is so artistic. He had a lot of inspiration, for all those years that he is writing. He always "in-loved" so they says... he's always inspired they might says... Oh you, girls and women, you always make men to become so romantic...... :)

Character development. He was the first to really explore the deeper levels of human behaviors in the context of story telling.
