My hatred for the Patriots goes back about 23 years to when the Colts first moved to Indy. That's when I became a Colts fan. The Patriots were a division rival back then.
One game in particular cemented my hatred for the Patriots. I don't remember what year this was, but it was before instant replay. Basically, the Patriots won a game against the Colts that they simply should not have. The Patriots had a drive at the end of the game and they scored a "touchdown" (I believe it was on 4th down) when the receiver CLEARLY had one foot in and one foot out. It was out by like 2 feet. It was so ridiculous.
Anyway, nowadays I hate them for the following reasons:
1) Bill Belichick is just a foul human being. He's an outstanding coach, but a terrible person. The way he has run up the score on so many teams this year is ridiculous. During the 4th quarter, the Patriots have their starters in the game, they're still throwing the ball, and they're going for it on 4th down! And the way he dissed Coach Dungy and Manning after he lost in the AFC Championship game really reflected the kind of man he is.
2) Tom Brady -- He immediately ran off the field after losing last year in the AFC Championship instead of being a man and shaking hands with Manning and Dungy. Additionally, Brady's having a great year, but I honestly don't feel he's better than Manning. Peyton will own every record in the books (including Favre's ironman record) when he retires. Brady will just have the single season passing td record (probably).
3. Patriots fans. Some are OK--Darth Brady (even though he and I clearly disagree on all things political) actually amuses me ("your thumbs down will only make me stronger") and Terry C and Tabi are alright. But a bunch of the Pats fans on YA and elsewhere are just beyond obnoxious. Yeah, we know you're 13-0: good for you!
Notice I didn't say anything about the whole spygate thing because I don't really care about it. And I couldn't care less about Brady's personal life.
Anyway, 'Why I hate the Patriots' vol. 1, there it is. I'm out.
P.S. I'm a huge fan of Tedy Bruschi. I really admire the way he came back from the stroke to play again. I'm bummed that he'll be retiring before too long.

One of the main reasons might be because they play the way doctors (one would hope) operate: Brilliantly but, seemingly, without much emotion.
Historically, one of the most hated teams EVER, has always been the Dallas Cowboys but this year, there's been a spike in their popularity and I think it's because you see a lot of youthful excitement in how they play with a QB who's always smiling, a head coach who looks like Santa without the beard and a WR who likes to stir things up and entertains the media and fans. I'm a 49er fan so I have little love for Big D but even I have been charmed this year.
The Pats just seem so methodical, so almost robotic in their excellence that it seems to take the fun out of the game and they beat most teams so soundly that there's little excitement or suspense when they face other teams.

Before this year I didn't hate the Pats, but they weren't a huge favorite of mine. After they won their back-to-back Super Bowl's and didn't go the next year, all their fans were whining and complaining and that's when I started not rooting for them. Then add this year when they get caught with their hand in the cookie jar, and players all deny any knowledge. Yeah right. You tell me that key players at a minimum of that organization didn't know? Then decide to take it out on every team they played and running up the score mercilessly. That shows no class and no sportsmanship. Sure, they draft well and they don't make any off the field mistakes, but I will never cheer for them.

I don't hate the Patriots but I hate their arrogant bandwagon fans. I realize they have many true fans as all teams do. I am a Redskins fan since 1970. I have seen some good years & some some not so good years but I still cheer for them win or lose. Patriots are a great team no doubt but they will lose eventually, but maybe not this year but who knows what will happen the last 3 weeks of the season.

You are correct on all your points. But all those points have also been made by the Yankees in the past, yet people still hate them, right?
Boston is the new New York. The Red Sox are the new Yankees.
Also, because they were caught cheating. You can make all the excuses you want, but the fact is they were caught breaking the rules, which is cheating.

There aren't as many people that dislike the team as you think. Outside of the coach, there aren't any players that I dislike. I think that more people dislike their fans and the way they act more than anything, at least on YA. Especially when you congratulate them on a win and all you get in return are snide remarks about your team. I personally think that all that success is going to their heads.

As a NY Jets fan, Absolutley! Not that they didn't already have talent to beat us, but they took it in a cheap way. I hate the New England Patroits!
PS. If by some miracle the Jets beat the Patroits Sunday, I'll be laughing for a week.

Their coach is an arrogant manical, back stabbing cheater. Their fans are ugly. They don't care about winning games. All they talk about it humilating and hurting people. They're nasty. I don't dislike the Pats players, but the Coach and fans are just horrible.

Aside from Colts fans and the weak teams in their division that they beat up on I really don't see a reason for people to hate them.
My team is in the NFC and my only concern is them.
