Greetings! That idea was actually tried before. President John Adams ordered the Alien and Sedition Acts, which did punish people who made offensive comments toward the US President.

The act was rightfully scorned and helped contribute to his ouster in the next election. One of the first things Thomas Jefferson did when he entered office was to nullify the act.

It was a terribly bad idea two hundred years ago and it still is today.

Here's a quote on that subject regarding Presidents and their policies. It was from none other than Theodore Roosevelt:
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the
President, or that we are to stand by the President,
right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile,
but is morally treasonable to the American public."

Nope, it's protected speech. Just don't eat a piece of the flag since protected speech only applies to what comes out of a mouth and not what goes into it.

No, it would be hypocrisy since the US is based on and the troops exist to defend freedom of speech (as well as our other freedoms)

You should be in jail or executed for completely ignoring our Constitution.
