If you didn't get Maria or Anita or you don't type for either of those roles, Anybodys is the next best female role. I would say she's a decent part, but not major... However, being one of the other girls amounts to nothing more than a good dance part with a line or two, basically ensemble. Regardless, you do have to be a great dancer.

RE:
Is the Character Anybodys a good part in west side story?
I was just wondering if it's a decent part? Is she in a lot of songs and scenes in the play?

Anybody's is a tomboy who desperately wants to be one of the Jets. She does not have a song she sings but depending on the director she may sing in some group numbers. She definitely dances and needs to have a street smart tough attitude. While she is not one of the leads, if played right she can be a memorable character. You feel compassion for her and she can provoke a few laughs.
If playing a tomboyish tough girl, a lot of dancing and hanging with the boys sounds like fun to you then you should go for the part.

I think she's a really cool role. The only female gang member. She has good stage time, but unfortunately she doesn't have any solos. However, there is a song that was originally written for the show, but was cut.
You can hear a snippet of it here:

It's #8 "Like Everybody Else"
Even without that song, I think Anybodys is an awesome role and I would be very happy if I were cast as her.

Anybodys is a good role. She is the tomboy who hangs with the boys. In some ways she is one of the best female roles, playing the romantic lead is way overrated. Character parts are much more rewarding.

Yes it is a great part.My daughter played her way back when.My daughter at the time had long hair and had to have it all cut off in a "ducktail."She never regretted it.
Go for it--Any part in a play is an experience you will never forget.Live your dreams now.
Anything you do to get a play on stage (whether usher, stage lighting, scene painter, costume maker etc.) is a reward in itself and worth applause.
I applaud all those young people who to-day are bringing theatre to the masses.
ENCORE----ENCORE--

If that's your definition of a good part, then probably not. But Anybody's is one of those small roles that if done well can be quite memorable.
