Today the pedals are in the same order everywhere; accelerator on the right, clutch on the left, and brake in the middle. I believe this was standardized in the 1920's. I know that some old very cars, like the Ford Model T, are different.

Gas is on the right foot; Brake in the middle and clutch on the left. Do you know how this right hand drive and left hand drive evolved?
Well. Most british are right handed. When they were driving their horse drawn carts on the right side of their roads, the whips were getting entangled with the fences of their homes. So they were compelled to keep to the left while driving their carts. The same fashion continues with their automobiles now.
Most of the americans are left handed.
Is it clear to you now?

Clutch is on the far left, brake in the middle and accelerator on the left. I personally use left foot to operate both the brake and the clutch and right foot to operate accelerator as I am sure most folks out there would

It's the same as the way the US is. The right foot is the gas, the left foot is the break

Gas, clutch, and brake are just like in US.

However, turn signal and gear shift (if it's on the column) are backwards.

I learned to drive in Japan (left-wheel drive there) and when I moved back to US, I didn't have trouble with driving on the right, but I kept trying to shift into 'left.'
