For me a modern day hero is Bobby Sands (RIP) who stood up for his rights and what he believed in, he went on hunger strike for 66 days for the sake of his country. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Sands

my son, who has taught me many great virtues and has given me the most wonderful times. he is wise, compassionate, loving, intelligent, mentally strong. he is my modern day hero, by far!
