...a very stylish underground/independent vampire movie, which just cries out for greater appreciation and notice, is the oh-so gory 1993 shocker, "Darkness"; it was one of those great independent horror films, whereby the filmmakers economically did so much, with very little money (...the film is considered low-budget, but it doesn;t necessarily look that way....a definite credit to the filmmakers)...
...for something more mainstream, but just as underappreciated, you might want to give the ruthless and unmerciful, albeit compelling horror shocker, "Near Dark" (1987) a try; a very unusual and unconventional, albeit very entertaining horror excursion...and the first film directed by Katheryn Bigelow (...of "Point Break")...
...a most ususual drive-in horror classic from the '70's, which definitely bears checking out, is the 1974 shocker, "Grave of the Vampire"; a young girl is raped by a vampire, and her offspring, instilled with partial vampirism, grows up into a handsome young man, obssessed with finding the creature that raped and killed his mother. A quite notorious and sickening surreal scene in the film, has the mother, in realizing that she cannot breast feed her rather ususual baby, repeatedly cuts herself on the breast, and has her baby feed from the wound...

My favorite is Bram Stoker's Dracula with Keanu Reeves, Winnona Ryder, Gary Oldman and Anthony Hopkins.
The plot and special effects are awesome.
I also like Interview with a Vampire too, but Bram Stokers Dracula is my favorite.

Like many others I would go with Lost Boys, gem of a film, scary but funny! Another oldie worth a mention is Salems Lot, that was scary in its day
