I really don't know much about Belize's history. My husband and I did go there for a visit around 1994.
The people were very sweet and friendly but Belize City was in very run down shape.The public transportation was bad too.
It seemed that they got back their country after everyone else was finished taking whatever natural resourses there were.I hope they can develop their country and not stip it down any more, it is so pretty there.
