My husband and I are still trying to settle on a baby boy name (just preparing). Of course we were being very silly and coming up with absolutely ridiculous things and somehow got on the subject of naming him some kind of profession (Plumber! Professor! Barista!).
Out of nowhere he says, "Apothecary".
Now, this would *never* be a name we'd actually give a child (it's just ridiculous and can't be shortened into anything even resembling a real name), but the rhythm of the word along with our single-syllable last name sounded fantastic. We searched for other 5 syllable names but goodness, they were frightening (and generally unpronounceable).
We also thought there was a movie or show with a character name Something Something Jones (not Indiana) that had a similar feel but couldn't remember it.
Any suggestions on a (real) boy name with a similar feel, rhythm, or sound to "Apothecary"? Serious names only, please.
I hope we have a girl first because that name was easy!

Alexander was our top pick, but the -er conflicts with the -er ending in the middle name.
I liked Ezekiel but my husband said, "Zeke? It sounds like he'd beat someone with a shovel then go play some banjo." Not to offend anyone with that name. I liked it.
I like Maximillian. We could call him Max. Don't think the husband will go for it though.

Heh, my husband suggested Colorado for a boy. I just coulnd't think of what you'd nickname for it. Col? Rad? Dough? Hence why we're not using that one. ;)
