It was originally Droors Clothing but now DC is just DC because they no longer have ties to Droors Clothing.

DC was founded by Ken Block (Rally car driver) and Damon Way (big bro of pro. skateboarder Danny Way)
The company was originally called "Eightball" and made T-shirts for skate shops. But a guy in Seattle had already trademarked the name. So they called it Droors Clothing.
DC originally stood for Droors Clothing Footwear, but since the sale of Droors (which is now defunct), DC no longer has any ties to Droors and is simply DC Shoes.
