well what you don't do is take any notice of those who have said things like take your own knife in tomorrow, or don't report it!
the best thing i think is to ask your parents to report it by phone.
NO teacher will let on who has done the reporting - and you are almost certainly not the only person to have seen this knife, are you?
you are acting responsibly and in a grownup way - good for you!

Always report things like that. Tell a member of staff at a time when you won't be seen by this boy if you're afraid of trouble, but make sure the teachers know.
You could even get your parents to call the head teacher instead - that way nobody knows it was you.
Addendum: To those saying "take in one yourself" - grow up. This was a serious question and encouraging someone young to meet violence with violence is disgraceful.

Oh I think you should report him, I am sure the headmaster will be very glad you did and will protect your anonymity, this boy is obviously doing something wrong by bringing the knife to school, do you want what he could do with it on your conscience, tell your headmaster asp.

well that's very simple go and tell your headteacher before someone gets hurt and you reg art after all it could be you or a friend or even a teacher .
do the right thing , but please make sure you tell no one that it was you who shopped him , because the out come might notbe good. be brave do the right thing.. dont hold back .

run like crazy and scream for the next 98 days till the teacher has found out the take in a bigger one and tell the teacher that he had it in and he will get in serious troblue!!

well reporting him is the best way to go but since you clearly said that you dont want to do it then i would say just stay away from his way so he wont hurt you
