It frequently snows in tennessee. I've been around Gatlinburg several times with snow on the ground.

You should be able to see snow in eastern TN. I'm not sure where exactly in TN has the most annual snowfall. Clingman's Dome is around 6,000 ft. in elevation. They should definitely get some snow there. Up in the NE corner of TN should see snow regularly every winter. How long have you lived in TN?

Because it is still considered a southern state. The Smokies and Cumberland plateau get the best chance of snow.

just in the platoo, [east side] on the west side we dont get any, too many hills,
