Answers :
25) 6 / (3/4)
= (6 x 4) / 3
= 24/3
= 8 cans

26) 24 / (3/8)
= (24 x 8) / 3
= 192 / 3
= 64 cans

27) 324 x (2/3)
= (324 x 2) / 3
= 648 / 3
= 216 people

28) (32 1/4) - (3/4)
Look for Least Common Denominator = 4
= (129 - 3)/4
= 126/4
= 124/4 + 2/4
= 31 2/4
= 31 1/2 pts.

29) (1 2/3) - (3/5)
Look for Least Common Denominator = 15
= (15 + 10 - 9)/15
= 16/15 or 15/15 + 1/15
= 1 1/15 miles

30) (5 3/10) - (1 1/5)
Look for Least Common Denominator = 10
= (50 + 3 - 10 - 2)/10
= 41/10
= 40/10 + 1/10
= 4 1/10 miles

25. Set up a cross-multiplication problem.
3/4 lb / 1 can = 6 lb / x cans
Then solve for x, which equals 8.
You could also just divide 6 by 3/4 to get this answer.
The answer is 8.

26. You can do this the same way as 25.
3/8 gal / 1 can = 24 gal / x cans.
Solve for x, which equals 64.
You could also just divide 24 by 3/8.
The answer is 64.

27. 2/3 * 324 = (2)(324) / 3 = 648 / 3 = 216.
The answer is 216.

28. 32 1/4 = 129/4
129/4 - 3/4 = 126/4 = 31 2/4 = 31 1/2
You could also just subtract 3/4 from 32 1/4 normally. 32 1/4 - 1/4 = 32, then subtract the remaining 2/4, which is 1/2, and it leaves you with 31 1/2.
The answer is 31 1/2.

29. Find a common denominator for the two fractions and then subtract.
1 2/3 = 5/3 = 25/15
3/5 = 9/15
25/15 - 9/15 = (25-9)/15 = 16/15 = 1 1/15
The answer is 1 1/15.
