My husband and I were having a conversation yesterday and he was saying how when he gets older (he's 35) he is dreading having to go for a prostate examination. He was really whingeing about it and then I pointed out that I have been having periods since I was 13, I have given birth 3 times, I have to go for a smear test every 3 years and when I'M older I will have to go for a mammogram too. One little test he has to have, can you believe he is moaning about that ?

Why do women complain about their husbands behaviour so much? Are men supposed to be mind readers? I'm sure it is so much easier to whine to strangers in public forums instead of speaking to your husband about your feelings.
If you don't feel he appreciates your superior experiences with pain and discomfort then sort it out with him. Dragging a third party into your marriage and giving one side of the story to plead for support is a betrayal. It's your marriage sort it out yourself. He's discussing his personal anxieties for support not to be mocked by a misled crowd. Tell me if he had a problem with you would he go behind your back and tell half the story or would he tell you to your face? Who is the real wimp?

Being counter cultural for Christ is the most heroic thing any man can do, because it goes against our human nature.. This doesn't mean we don't stand up for our beliefs and principles. It means we live by them ... no matter how difficult it may be. Martin Luther King Jr. was a great example of this, and it worked, even though it eventually cost him his life. He was certainly no wimp. And your question about the Romans misses the whole point. The Romans weren't the enemy Jesus came to destroy. Satan was. Not only did Jesus destroy Satan's power, he also used the Romans to do it, and later, he used the Romans again, to destroy the unfaithful Jews, and to spread Christianity throughout the world. The Roman empire has been gone for many centuries, but the Roman Catholic Church remains, the pillar and ground of God's truth. There's lots more to God's ways than mere mortals might suspect. Jesus wasn't kidding when he promised that the meek would one day inherit the earth. By his saving death, he's already rescued them and it from the dominion of evil. When he comes back again, he'll keep every promise he ever made, to those who are faithful enough to truly believe in him.

Good on you girl for brining this up.... Please ignore all the males answers, because they really shouldnt be attempting to answer questions in womans health anyway. My husband is exactly the same, scared to have a prostate exam, yet thinks i'm pathetic when i complain of period pain.....

It was God's devine intervention to lay the females with all the "horrible" things that go with having a vagina. It really just proves that we are the stronger sex, and had roles been reversed, i really dont think men would be able to cope with it. Our pain threshold is definalty the strongest - i.e childbirth etc, and we are genetically designed to keep on going.

I agreed with u - its time for them to toughen up and deal with what life throws u. Even if it is a little man with a latex glove and some lubricant.... LOL

To be fair as a man we are not quite so used to having people poke things into our orifices as women are. Sometimes women even request it to be done repeatedly, several times a day, I've found.
But perhaps you should remind him. The prospect of pain and embarrassment of a rectal examination may make the procedure seem quite daunting. But it is not so painful and undignified as an abdominal operation or indeed terminal cancer.
Don't tell me. Your husband went down to the pub throughout your pregnancy and for the birth of your 3 children. The swine!

Your stupid little tests don't cause the type of pain a prostrate examine does. And your body was made to give birth and have periods, that is a natural part of it. Getting an exam of any kind isn't. And if you had to do either of those (birth and periods) without the comforts you have today, as your long dead ancestors did, then you'd be complaining a good deal more about it than you do now. Yes, women complain about it now, on and on. That's why we men know all about it. So quit acting like you are all so tough.

BTW I find it funny how women will want a man with a big penis for the purpose of intercourse, yet complain about having a little swab momentarily put inside them for the purpose of a pap smear. And how they can give a man oral but somehow can never relax their throat muscles sufficiently to swallow a dinky, little pill. Talk about your wimps.

So what you are saying is that because you have endured something painful that everyone else in the world should look forward to painful things.
There are people in the world who have had all four limbs amputed but I would probably complain if the doctors where taking my left arm tomorrow.

Its basically a real man thing not to want to have things up ones backside. So think on that as a positive, you should get really worried if he was looking forward to enjoying it!!
Anyway tell him its the endoscopic examination of the bowel thats more demeaning.

hes probbably not scared about the pain, just the fact that a docters going to stick his finger up his arsse, that would frighten any straight man, other than that most people will say women have a better pain threshold than men, but whenever i see women get so much as scratched they dont half winge!

This sounds like one of those conversations that you can chock up to: "This is what you say now".... if the doctor tells him that he NEEDS to have it done, I'm sure there won't be any wimpering then - especially if he likes life and living healthy.
