Well lets see,Financial institutions seem to get bailed out immediatly,Oil companies keep getting "exploration incentives",Auto manufactures pick and choose which guidelines they can "economiclly afford".So I guess your answer seems to be the financial elite control what we buy,sell,see,hear,and eat.So they control the economy, and thereby the country.

Which means corporate (huge corporate, us little guys get screwed left and right) money.
Follow the buck. Nearly every law, every candidate, everything is for the benefit of big business.
Us little people are just for their use and disposal. But, hey, we make for good photo ops!
