Cognitive Psychology relates to philosophy and linguistics because both are social phenomena. Cognitive Psychology includes rationalization, therefore social influence is always present in the formation and reinforcement of ideas.

Linguistics is the more socially prevalent of the two, by creating a need of adaptation to social norms for the purpose of communication. For example, if you want to be understood in a certain area, you use a certain manner of speaking and manner of vocalization or accent. Certain terminologies and expressions are also part of the learned system of communications.

Philosophy is more of an influence that is almost subconsciously transferred through expression of ideas, often non-verbally. Philosophies lend themselves to cognitive processes through introspection--the evaluation of stimuli and the method taken to procure the desired outcome is naturally adopted by the societal observer.
