In Winter, we have many clear and sunny days in Tokyo.
By contrast, it has a heavy snowfall in the Sea of Japan side.

When it had much snow, many of school lessons were halted and we used to play in the ground in my childhood.
I didn't use any other means of transportation without by walk in my school days, so I hadn't got teed off if the trains and buses were delayed.

When it snows, I always get the feeling something fun is going to happen.
It may sound childish, I still excite even now.
How about you?

I lived up in Nagaoaka at one time and it was kind of neat when we got dumped on. I remember I went out one night for a drink and the snow really started to drift up quickly. No one in the bar was going anywhere and the following morning was obviously going to be a snow day. We drank whiskey and played hana-fuda all night. So I guess you don't have to be a kid to think something fun is going to happen when it snows! It wasn't much fun though when the water from the sprinklers froze!

I really like having changes in seasons, so winter snow is nice to me! It's a little sad celebrating Christmas without snow, I think. Yes, school delays and cancellations were always welcome! (Delays were often better, because we had to make up cancellations. I don't know if it's the same for Japan.)

I actually do prefer slightly cool weather over hot weather.

I've never been in Japan in the wintertime, but next year I hope to be there then.

Winter reminds me of my best memory. My last Christmas was filled of joy and happiness. The night before Christmas Eve was very silent. while we were walking on the street of Sapporo, I started to touch the snow that floated on the ground. Dad took his first step and threw snow on me. So me and my little sister fighting back by throwing even more snow on him. that was so fun. I miss them and these memories so much. I may be lonely for this coming Christmas.
askawow 47 just remind me of myself cleaning the snow for the first time. I saw my little sister did it. I followed her and took up another tool then started to clean the thick snow on the road while having fun with it. We even took up more snow on our hand and made the shape of a tiny snowman. I get excited with snow. It gives me a comfortable feeling.
