Marriageable age and age of consent for sex in the United States is a matter left up to each individual state. There is no one national law that covers these issues, so the ages vary from state to state.
Generally speaking, in most states it is legal to marry at age 18 without parental or judicial consent, and younger (typically 16) with parental or judicial consent. Again, some states may be higher or lower. The age of sexual consent again varies, but is typically between 16 and 18 years old, with numerous other provisions that modify those laws; for example, it can be as young as 13 in some states if the other sexual partner is within a certain close age range.
As the marriageable age is usually the same or higher than the age of sexual consent, in most cases that means that it is legal to have sex with one's spouse, although again you would have to check the specific laws of the state in question.

Free to have sex? Ha, that's a different story . You should not have sex when you are underage because if you have kids it will wreck your life. You will have no money, and responsibility will prevent you from doing many things, such as studies and to get a good job etc.... Plus, you can put the other partner in legal trouble.
About 40% of Kids at 12 and 14 have had sex according to a recent poll. That does not make it right. It is just a number.

Now Yogi, you can open your eyes and smell the coffee to see what life is brewing. Many people walk in this life blindly and think they are a gift to the world because they are in it. Come on, who are you kidding! You are walking around with your eyes wide shut if you believe you will win with an attitude like that. Marriage has nothing to do with "free sex". It applies mostly anywhere, not just in USA.

You can get married at 18 without parental consent, under 18 if parents agree and sign a wavier. However, if you are under 18, with parental consent even, you can not have sex, because you are under the legal age to consent....even with marriage...

18 is the legal age. I think it's way too young. Most people have their whole lives ahead of them.
