Absolutely Yes. The hypocrisy is outrageous. All those @#@# lunatics carrying signs about Barry Bonds, and there's Roger Clemens and a host of others just as guilty. Where's that sorry web-millionaire now. Is that #@$@# guy going to go and buy Roger Clemens baseballs and brand them with an Asterick.
If this doesn't happen, that is a crime and they all, including media writers like Jon Sarceno (USA Today) and all of his other colleagues, who lynched Barry but now that there are others, they have nothing to say.
Absolutely Outrageous!

All I can say is if he did it before the it became banned, doesn't change the fact the he cheated. I wish for once some one could play on the merits of the God given talent they have and nothing else. When I was coming up, my coach told me hard work, discipline, and integrity is what mattered. If we won, we won giving it OUR all. Not enhancing it with something to give us some type of unfair advantage. All I ate was the great home made cooking my mother gave me and I did fine.
For me, I'm getting less and less interesting in sports - it seems they'll do anything for a buck and fame. It just shows the lack of character they really have as a human being. I don't know if they truly believe they aren't doing wrong or if they just don't care and blantantly lie as they pad their stats, egos, and lives.
So, put an asterisk by them all. Until they can finally clean this stuff up and we can have players that don't do things to enhance themselves unfairly - whether or not it's something against league policy.

No I don't think that the Mitchell report should be taken as direct evidence becuase he is the Judge and the Jury by himself. Who knows what the criteria is for being put on the list. I hope it's not as simple as somebody saying that x person used steroids and then he ends up on the list. The whole investigation seems like a waste of time to me. MLB should have just moved on like the NFL did in the 1980's. Whatever happened to being innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable dobut?

Unless he broke the rules regarding drug use as they were on the books at the time, there's no reason he should be penalized in any way, including an asterisk. My guess is that, if he was using some kind of performance enhancers, he did so before MLB instituted their current policy. If that's the case, then he can't be punished retrospectively, and neither can anyone else.
People want to put asterisks beside so many names and accomplishments, but how can you do that if these players didn't break any rules? We might not like what they've done, but that doesn't give us the right to "asterisk" them.

For sure. If your going to do it for Bonds, you have to do it for all of those who cheated the game and obtained valuable records while doing it.
Might look something like this:
Roger Clemens* 350 plus career wins, *7 Cy Youngs,
*World Series Champion, *20 strikeouts in one game.

I dont think asterisks should be put by anyones numbers. Some names are coming out but there is no way that the Mitchell report can include everyone.
To be perfectly honest I enjoyed being ignorant. All of these investigations are slowly killing baseball. Also, Senator Mitchell (the guy leading the biggest investigation) is a member of the Red Sox board of Directors. To me that is a huge conflict of interest. I wonder why there hasnt been any Red Sox named.

BIG NOTE: ROGER CLEMENS NAME WILL BE ON THE MITCHELL REPORT AND HIS FORMER TRAINER SAID HE USED STEROIDS BEFORE THE YANKEES AND DURING YEARS AS A NEW YORK YANKEE
APOLOGIZE AND EXCUSE THE PURE AN CLEAN AS THE DRIVEN SNOW... ROGER CLEMENS.
ESPN: Source says information on Clemens will be in MITCHELL'S REPORT
ESPN.com news services
I TOLD YOU ALL, I TOLD YOU ALL !!!
Brian McNamee, who worked for the Yankees and as a personal trainer for Clemens and Yankee teammates Andy Pettitte, also told investigators that on at least one occasion, Clemens was in possession of steroids from another supplier, the source said.
The source said MCNAMEE told INVESTIGATORS .....
"HE SUPPLIED CLEMENS WITH STEROIDS while CLEMENS was with the YANKEES and PRIOR TO CLEMENS JOINING THE TEAM .
"It's going to be a ROUGH DAY IN THE BRONX ," the paper quoted the source as saying.
Baseball commissioner Bud Selig told the Chicago Tribune that he hadn't seen the report, but he was PROUD IT WAS COMING OUT.
"People can say Bud was just trying to cover his butt or take care of his legacy or whatever," Selig said, according to the Tribune. "I say [bleep] it. This needed to be done, and now we've done it. I'm just happy it will be out there and we can move on. I'm proud of it."

No, I don't think anyone gets the astericks... Because everyone was doping. He had to, because the batters were. He did what he did to survive in MLB.
That's why I stopped watching baseball. Now that I'm back in I'm realizing why I walked away in the first place. Because baseball became like Base Wars for nintendo.

I don't care who has used steroids and who hasn't. I consider tampering with equipment to be cheating, but not doing something to build up your body. The players take their own risks. They are stupid to do so, and will someday pay dearly (Lyle Alzado) but that should be their choice. If they commited crimes they should be prosecuted. BUT, let the courts deal with that.
Many of the players who will be named should be in the HOF. (Which is a joke without Pete Rose) The hall is filled with real cheaters anyway. Guys such as Don Sutton and Gaylord Perry who both doctored the ball.

I've always liked Roger. He's from my town and I've enjoyed watching him play the game for so many years. But fair is fair. I think Bonds deserves the asterisk. If Roger is outed, so does he.
