in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada a father killed her 16 year old daughter just because she refused to wear Hijab and didnt listen to his orders. She just wanted to be her own person and she was uncomfortable at home so she talked about going to a shelter. Then the father killed her, her 26 year old brother getting involved with the dad. The father called the police and said I killed my daughter. How stupid is that.. really.. that is so sad and pathetic. Why kill your own daughter, a loved one, or not, just because she wanted to be her own person and live her life!

They call it 'honor' killing and think it's justifiable to redeem the honor the offender had destroyed. Let's face it, there are still people in the world who think women are possessions. The only way to solve this problem is by educating the next generation about freedom and equality.

Things like that happen more often than we actually ever hear about on the news, because it is accepted as the right thing to do in certain countries. Religion has almost always been a way of making women be possessions and of making it permissible to abuse children. Even America's popular religions, Protestant and Catholic, have their roots in the same ground! Just read some history. Science and education have done so much for us in this century, and I truly have hope that one day religion will go the same way as the Dodo bird!

You move out of your country because you are looking for a better way of living for you and your family, you run the risk of your children wanting to become their own person when they are not around the ground rules they have been exposed to all their lives. I agree it is ridiculously pathetic!
