i work in a neonatal icu. 23 weeks or 500 grams is consider viable. we do have a 22 weeker here right now, but that is pushing it a little. usually at 23 weeks they will survive but have a very very high risk for developmental problems.

It should be at least 24 weeks... although this is a really not ideal situation. I think it is at 22 weeks when trying to save it is morally questionable (the odds of survival are so low that you are just potentially prolonging the death). At 32 weeks the lungs are developed enough that it is not a horrible crisis, and the baby has good odds at a life free of complications. At 35 weeks, the baby is no longer premature, just preterm, and at 37 weeks, it is considered full term.

The shortest length of pregnancy after which a child born prematurely has a chance of survival. Generally, this ranges from 20-27 weeks.

ignore instill,
she is very wrong there is no viability at 12-20 weeks which is 3-4 months

the earliest is 24 weeks and then its rare for survival. most still die or are vegetables.

28 weeks and up they have a better chance

I think it depends on the baby. They have to fight too. But ive heard of them surviving at 3 or 4 months gestation.

the earliest on record is 19 weeks, but this is highly unusual. I believe it starts at 25 weeks. Heres a link with more info.

28 weeks (7 mos) but, even then, it is risky.. they can survive before that, but they have a lot of issues in life..
