Yes, I shop for the best deals, not for religion.

Absolutely. Everyone makes such a huge deal about this. I'm Jewish, I celebrate Hanukkah, and I take absolutely no offense when someone says "Merry Christmas" to me - I just say it back, and am happy that someone's being nice and friendly during the holidays. I don't know a single Jewish person, or someone of another religion, who takes offense when someone says "Merry Christmas".

If a store DIDN'T use the term "Merry Christmas", what's the big deal? So they're trying to be more politically correct - that's fine.

Yes, i used to work at a store where we had to say happy holidays instead of merry christmas because of some religions that dont celebrate christmas, it didnt bother me much and still felt the same as saying merry christmas......or maybe it was just me.

I never use the term in my store.

I put up decorations. I offer gift wrapping service. But I will not tell anyone what kind of holiday to have.

Not everyone is a Christian. Not all Christians celebrate Christmas. Some people suffer seasonal depression in the winter and the constant chirping of self-satisfied holiday merry-makers make things worse.

(I personally fit that last description...)

Well since Happy Holidays has become the politically correct way or addressing Christmas time. I would still shop there. With so many different cultures we have to be sensitive to the fact that not everyone celebrates Christmas.

Yes. I am Christian, I say Merry Christmas, but Happy Holidays is also a goodwill salutation. I have no problem with it. The issue is getting ridiculous.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!

let us not forget 2 things.. firstly not every time you shop are you necessarily shopping for "Christmas" gifts...

AND... more importantly...

the holiday we celebrate at this time of year actually predates Christianty - going back to the pagan celebration of SATURNALIA.. in fact this is where the gift exchange traditionally comes from... The Christians have tried to erase the holiday by telling people other reasons for most traditions BUT if you do your research you will find just about EVERY tradition goes back to the Pagan Traditions.... ONLY the name was changed... (yup even the TREE is Pagan!)

as such I would welcome a store bold enough to say " HAPPY SATURNALIA!"
