Okay since i wanted to name my baby girl after my great grandmothers. Here is one! How about Jean Louise? It does sound old ladyish, but it is both of my great-grandmas middle names. does anyone like it??

Both are classic names and they flow well together. It's beautiful, good choice.

A nice solid name! Both are well-established, pronouncable, and easy to spell. They flow reasonably well together. However, your great-grandmothers' middle names are quite a stretch for honoring (unless you don't name after living relatives for cultural reasons). It's a very tenuous connection, since there's very little chance (I could be wrong) that your daughter will know these women. It seems like you searched the family tree until you came up with something you like.

I do like it, and love the sentiment, but I'd likely use a less literal nod to the Grammas' middle names, personally (only because there are other forms or similar names I love even more). ;) Jane Louisa or Eloise Jane, for instance. But that's just a personal preference ... Jean Louise is equally lovely!

I'm not terribly fond of it.

It's better than all these ridiculous trendy names being used these days (Nevaeh, Cadence, Brooklyn, etc.) but it's a teensy bit too plain for my tastes.

Wasn't Jean Louise Scout's given name in To Kill a Mockingbird? I can't remember, it's been so long since I read it.

Your child will actually have a very uncommon name- which is ironic, because the goal of all of these people naming their kids "Jaden" and "Brooklyn" is to be different- wait till they go to kindergarten and find out they are lost in a sea of Jadens and Brooklyn. I can almost guarantee your daughter will be the only Jean in her class, if not her school- which is a good thing.

I think it's wonderful that you're choosing a name that has meaning for you, and will give your child a sense of where they came from. If you want to give her a younger nickname, you can. Jeannie is very cute!

Good luck.

I like Jean but I don't like Louise. Jean works great as a middle name so maybe you can have something-Jean. Love that.

It's a very personal thing. I'm naming my girl Ingrid, and some people hate it. I think the most important thing to consider (love and sentiment for Grandmas aside), is to consider the picture you get in your mind when you hear a name.

People will judge your child someday, based on the name on their resume or college application. When I think of a girl named Jean, it doesn't conjure up anything negative in my head. What do you think when you imagine a Jean?

I used to love the call Jesse James. yet he wasn't precisely a sort citizen. :) it extremely is basically an extremely cool call. once you're a baseball fan, you have heard of Nolan Ryan, seen to be between the final pitchers who ever lived. i like that call too. you are able to desire to consistently choose for a presidential first call and choose Kennedy, Franklin (even however Benjamin replaced into no longer a President), Lincoln, Tyler, Reagan, Clinton, or Jefferson. Ralph Waldo Emerson replaced right into a transcendentalist author. Emerson is amazing for a splash boy. good success!

If you love the name then name your daughter she'll appreciate that she is being named after your great -grandmas .Maybe you can pair up one of the names with a more modern name and then save the next one for your next daughter.Congratulations and good luck!

If you liked your grandmas, go for it! Or, modernize the names a little. How about Anna Louise, Jenna Louise, or, Jana Louise. Go with your heart's desire.
