Why are villains like Robin Hood, Al-Capone,Billy the Kid,Bonny and Clyde looked up as "heroes"?

Please "heroes" is in inverted commas.For example in a film any kid will like to see Robin Hood winning although he preaches robbing the rich to feed the poor,which is not morally correct.

For some reason our society remember the villian rather than the victim. I bet you can name more serial killers as opposed to serial killer's victims. I guess maybe the media focuses more on the villian and his past rather than the life of the victim. Good luck. 2D

Who looks up to these people as "heroes?" Certainly not me. What books have you been reading?
