sounds pretty quiet to me. The normal human voice is about 60 db.

Noise levels for exhaust fans are measured in Sones. The lower the number, the quieter they are. You also need to know the CFM's (cubic feet per minute) the fan extracts. You can go to the website listed below for answers concerning fans and calculations. Just click on the link.

The really quiet ones are weak and won't pull. Don't be sold a "silent and effective" fan, because there aren't really any.
