Three I guess. Since a plane is 2 deminsional and you need at least 3 points not on a straight line to make the 2nd deminsion.

I disagree with bronc....

Three linear points would not constitue a plane. You need at least 3 points and at least 1 needs to be off the line to make a plane.

The answer would be three. Three points will always always be coplanar. Just as any two points will be collinear.

Two would specify a line, but the plane could rotate around the line.
Three is enough.
