I live in southeastern North Carolina and I am surrounded by them, they are mostly from the Lumbee tribe. The University of North Carolina at Pembroke educates many Native Americans. Many people think that all of them live on reservations, but here many of them stay in beautiful houses and are very successful in their careers.

Some American Indians still live on reservations and practice many of the old ways, many of them have intergrated into the rest of the world. I have seen many ceremonies and I have relatives that are of the Indian nation.

Yes, where I live in Northeast Pennsylvania, there are people who are Natives, or who have Native blood in them. I would guess that they make up about 5% of the local population. Someone may be a full blooded Native, but because of the way they cut their hair or dress, you would never be able to tell.
I went to college with a girl who was full Cherokee, and you really couldn't tell at all.
Most natives that I meet are Cherokee, though I have been told that the predominant tribe in this area is Sioux.
