What if "you" were president of the United States ?

What would you do ? And why ? You see the condition
of the world we live in today. And I know that we all
sometimes wish we could sit in the big chair sometimes....
I know that I do. So we can try to solve some of the simple
problems, in this country, with common sense, and
dignity. What would you do, if you were elected president
in 2008 ? Best answer wins.

Item 1 Close Borders , Enforce Laws to curb hirings of illegal make penalties harsher if possible,

Item 2 Get our troops out of Iraq,

Item 3 Reform Social Security , Stop Taxing SS benefits, Stop the GOvernment from using the SS payroll deduction money to pay for other things than which it is deducted for. Allow younger workers the oppurtunity to have private accounts where the money they pay goes towards theryr own SS benefits. Also allow the importation of pharmuceaticals from other countries after the FDA approves the drugs we would allow to be imported. Stop illegals from collecting Social Security.

4 Renegotiate Trade deals with China, Mexico, other countries where we lose manufactoring and jobs in bulk to other nations.

5 Get rid of the Federal department of education. It duplicates services and wastes billions of dollars and most importantly has not helped our children any . Push to get the Teacher Tax Cut Act Passed. Would give employees of k-12 schools a $3000 tax credit, Push to get The Family Education Freedom Act Passed, It would give parents up to a $5000 tax credit towards the cost of educating theyre children, could be used for supplies, clothes, a PC, tuition, etc.

6. Try to pass a constitutional amendment that Congress Must declare War if we are to go to War. No transferring the power to the Executive, No going to War to enforce UN resolutions without a Declaration of War. If the War is Just, we will get the required Vote from Congress.

7. Veto any Unbalanced Budget that Congress sends to me.

8. Have our currency backed by gold or silver to some extent.

9. Make English our Official Language to support assimalation, This does not mean we should not tolerate others while they are learning English, and some who come here may never be able to learn but theyre children should. Assimilation does not mean you can not have pride in your ethnicity it just means having respect for the laws of the land you chose to come to.

10 push to get the Tax Free Tip Act enacted which woul repeal the Federal tax on tips, Repeal the Federal Gas Tax

11 Create a NASA like project to finding an alternative fuel to gasoline, so we could be less dependant on the Middle East,
Fact- you can power a diesel engine without altering it at all by using the leftover grease from making fries at a fast food joint by poring it through a coffee filter.

12. Start Drilling in Alaska and Offshore to reduce are dpendence on the Middle East while we Develop #11 .
As soon as we gaint the technology to power our automobiles on other substances than gas this would be ended.

14. Employ devices at All Points of Entry to Detect Radioactive or Nuclear Substances and Devices. Including at the point of origin.

1. tell the public in my state of the union address to change every single congressman, this would take 3 election cycles.
2. flat tax with no deductions. held out at time of earning. the employee does not have to file.

8. gm had the ev1 electric car years ago and it worked well. if they do not bring it into production make the manufacturing process of this car available to any company.
9. anyone getting public aid by deception sent to jail for a very long time. the same goes for over charging the government.

My first act as President of the US would be to incarcerate anyone asking a rhetorical question, especially ones in which the person asking the question pretty much gives his/her own reply.

My second act would be to hand slap anyone putting quotes around words that do not need such.

My final act would be to place a moratorium on anyone razing any trees or forests for any reason other than blight or clearing fallen trees, as the rampant loss of them has caused the oxygen level of the planet to dramatically decrease, thus causing silly questions to be asked. ;)

Well I'm not politician, but this would be my best shot.

1. Legalize all illegal immigrants (it would take years and a lot of money to remove them if we didn't) Then build a big wall all along the border.

2. Mandate strict energy laws to help our planet and our country.

3. Make us completely self reliant on all forms of energy and goods.

4. I would come up with millions of dollars to help the poor in this country instead of saying we don't have the money and then some big natural disaster comes on the other side of the world and all of the sudden we have it. Start here... then work our way out with kindness.

5. No abortion... period. This would not be left up to the states.

6. Capitol punishment for all child molesters, rapists and murderers.

7. I would hire a team for each state to seek out abusers of the system.

8. If on the system I would only allow a certain period of time to get back up on your feet again.

9. I would put stricter guidelines on creditors and their abuse.

10. Hmmm nuclear bombs... I would have everyone over for dinner to the white house and develop a plan for peace. 1 rule... no one can leave until we've all agreed! oh yeah.... leave your tie at home... let's talk like real people.

11. If politicians lied, were sneaky, had low moral values etc... they would be removed... however, if they smoked pot when they were 13 they could still be considered a good person.

14. I would pay our police and firefighters more. I would triple the number of police offers and require them to do more than set speed traps.

Since Congress makes the laws I would work WITH Congress to pass a form of affordable healthcare for all Americans, I would begin bringing our people home from Iraq and send others to Afghanistan/Pakistan where the real bad guys are. I would also secure or borders and look for ways to humanely deport or keep those here illegally on a case by case basis. I would give fair trials to those detained at Gitmo. Further, I would have Bush and Cheney arrested by Interpol and taken to the Hague for war crimes trials. I would dump the so called "patriot" act and would break up the huge Department of Homeland Security into managable departments not necessarily part of my cabinet. I would tripple taxes on any US company whose workforce contains more prople off shore than in the US. Companies like Stanley or Tyco and others would pay more in taxes or hire more Americans. As for energy policy I would encourage research and development into alternatives and ask Congress to give tax breaks to those who can provide viable alternatives within 8 to ten years. I would ask that the wealthy pay more of their share of taxes as in estate tax and things of that sort and let middle income and low income people pay less of a percentage. Above all I would look for ways to clean up the horrendous mess left by Dubya and his mob. Restoring our country's good name around the world would be a priority for the Secretary of State.

I'll jail a bunch of White people. Why, for no reason at all. No, you know what, i'll use some of their reasons. I felt threaten, i suspected them, therefore it is, just because, corporate America "White people" all CEO,CIO,CFO,COO all that, straight to jail for 4 years minimum, the whole time i'm president. Take the lead on climate change, sign the Kyoto agreement.
Institute Universal Health Insurance...not HealthCare.
Mandate dramatic mpg requirements...and other energy conservation efforts.
Balance the US budget.
Remove caps on income taxed for Social Security...and not tax SS benefits.
Start a massive project to develop and use clean energy....wind, solar, hydro, ...
Raise the minimum wage and index it to inflation.
Scrap the IRS as we know it, and either have a national sales tax, or a graduated flat rate income tax....no deductions.

I'd have a billionaire tax and a millionaire tax. I would lower taxes on small businesses and raise them for large chains. I would increase spending for research in the military and public sector through grants. I would also try to make nations more friendly with the US through diplomacy and open trade. I'd be open with as much as possible as long as it isn't a threat to national security. People are more trusting to an open hand than a closed one. Also grow NASA and give enticements for businesses interested in space-based research.
